Your preferred email address (or two) that you would like to add the neighborhood email list.
Any information you'd like added to the neighborhood directory (which typically includes resident name(s), address, phone number(s), email(s), and a list of kids names/pets/cars).
Please also include in the email if you'd like to buy a replacement lake key if you were not provided one upon purchase of the home (cost is $15 to replace a key).
If there is a question not answered by this site, the documents folder, or this FAQ, you can also send questions to holidayhillsolympia@gmail.com, a member of the board, or the neighborhood email list (once you have been added).

How do I get added or removed from the neighborhood email list?

Send an email to holidayhillsolympia@gmail.com, contact a member of the board individually, or if it is relevant to the entire neighborhood you can email our neighborhood list at holiday-hills@googlegroups.com (once you have been added).
I am renting a home in Holiday Hills. Can I be added to the email list or purchase a lake key?
Only homeowners are apart of the association and so renters are not able to be added to the email lists. 1 Lake key is provided per household and no additional lake keys are available for homeowners who are renting out their homes.
Please contact your landlord with any additional questions.
Events
What are the key neighborhood events for members to plan for each year?
March - Annual "walk-around" where the board visits all the common areas and notes what needs to be taken care of at the Annual Beach Clean-up, and other possible projects. All members are welcome to join and give ideas.
Late April - Annual Meeting to approve annual budget and set yearly priorities. One or more members from each household is requested to attend.
May - Annual Beach Clean Up where we work on the beach and the 2 entrances to our neighborhood. We need your participation to get our community areas ready for all of us to use each summer.
July or August - Summer Potluck Picnic at the Beach Park Gazebo. The board supplies burgers and hot dogs to grill at the Gazebo and the rest is pot luck style so bring a side to share!
December - Holiday Party hosted at the home of a volunteer! Food is typically provided by the board but please feel free to bring a dish to share too!
When is the Annual Meeting? What is discussed? How do I submit a topic?
We typically have the annual meeting in late April at the neighboring Christian Reformed Church at 2121 Log Cabin Rd SE. The date will be emailed out in advance and typically listed on this website's home page in the "Latest News" section when it is approaching. Our meeting minutes can be found here.
If you'd like to submit a topic just email holidayhillsolympia@gmail.com or a member of the board.
Do we have neighborhood social events?
We typically have two annual events that are budgeted and organized by the board and the rest are up to the community. :)
July - Summer Potluck Picnic at the Beach Park Gazebo. The board budgets for and helps provide burgers and hot dogs to grill at the Gazebo and the rest is pot luck style so bring a side to share!
December - Holiday Party hosted at the home of a volunteer! Much of the food is budgeted for and typically provided by the board but please feel free to bring a dish to share too!
How often does the Holiday Hills Board meet?
There are regular board meetings (that anyone may attend by request) every 1-2 months. We request that a member from each household attend the annual meeting typically held around late April once a year.
Virtual options (Zoom) are typically available for meetings if requested.
Meeting minutes are emailed out to the HOA email list and can also be found at the bottom of this page and are linked here.
Lake/Beach Park Access
How do I replace a lake key? What is the cost?
If you are new to the neighborhood and were not provided a key to the Beach Park (or you have lost your key) please email holidayhillsolympia@gmail.com. The fee is $15.
Is there a guest limit in the Beach Park?
Yes. 5 people per household unless you have a Gazebo reservation. For Gazebo reservations and complete beach park rules/information see the "Common Spaces" page.
Can I reserve the Gazebo?
Yes! That privilege is available for all members that are current on their dues.
For Gazebo reservations and complete beach park rules/information see the "Common Spaces" page.
You can also directly book the Gazebo and see the calendar at https://holidayhillsgazebo.youcanbook.me/.
Can I store a boat at the Beach Park on the storage racks and how much does it cost?
Boat storage on the boat rack is a yearly fee of $10 that you add to your annual dues. Boats are stored at your own risk and you are responsible for securing your boat to the rack if you wish to lock it. Please contact a board member to secure your spot once you have added the $10 to your dues.
If you would like to store a boat before the next time dues are sent around please contact a board member to pay the $10 and be assigned a spot.
Documents
How do I access the documents folder?
Our documents folder is private so you must request access. To request access, click here, log into your google/gmail account and send a request identifying who you are and the home you're living in.
Right now, we can only accept users with google/gmail accounts so if you do not have one and would like access to this part of the site you would have to create a free account and then request access. Hard copies of documents will still be distributed as needed so access is completely optional.
Where can I find our by-laws?
Here is a link to the by-laws. Often times the by-laws are given to owners when they purchase a home in the neighborhood.
Do we have a neighborhood directory or is there a way to contact someone specific in the neighborhood?
Yes! Here is a scan of the latest neighborhood directory (2021).
Where can I find a layout of the neighborhood or a lot map to help find my lot number?
We have a lot map which is located at the top of this page and on the last page of the neighborhood directory. For a more detailed general map we recommend using a satellite view on google maps or a similar service.
Where can I find recaps/minutes of recent board meetings?
The bottom of this page has a link to a document of the most recent minutes that is updated as the information comes available. They are also emailed out to the neighborhood mailing list.
Dues
What are the annual HOA dues for Holiday Hills Recreation Association?
Standard dues are $350/year + $10/year if you would like a space for boat storage on the boat rack at the beach park. Annual dues must be paid to make Gazebo reservations and also accrue interest if they are not.
Special assessments are voted on by the neighborhood (by mail/in the board meetings) and are to pay for projects desired by the majority of residents or that are needed on a less than annual basis. This can raise our yearly dues on an as needed basis beyond the $350/year.
To be assigned a boat rack spot once you have paid for them through your dues email holidayhillsolympia@gmail.com.
How do I pay my annual dues for Holiday Hills HOA?
Dues are sent in the mail in late spring. Inside that mail are the costs for that year (including if there are any special assessments for additional projects beyond our annual budget) and instructions to mail the check.
Make checks payable to Holiday Hills Recreation Assoc and send them to:
Holiday Hills Recreation Assoc
PO Box 1563
Yelm, WA 98597.
What do our annual dues go towards primarily?
Annual dues primarily go towards:
Regular mowing of the grass in the common areas
Honey bucket emptying/regular goose poop clean-up at the lake during the warm weather months
Beach park utilities (garbage, electricity, and water service)
Various small administrative costs to help keep the association running including some food for the annual summer picnic and the annual holiday party
For a more extensive breakdown please see the budget from the last annual meeting listed in the meeting minutes document.
How do the common spaces get maintained?
A portion of the maintenance is covered by contractors and service providers we pay with our annual dues including basic lawn maintenance and a honey bucket as well as goose poop clean-ups during the summer.
In addition, we have an annual walk through in March to note problem areas and an Annual clean-up day in May.
The Board
What are the responsibilities of the board members?
The board works as a team to help the neighborhood run smoothly and lead board meetings.
We have various officer positions including President (sets agendas), Vice President, Secretary (takes minutes, neighborhood directory), Treasurer (budgets/dues), and member's at large.
Check out the board members page to learn who is currently serving each role.
Can I join the board?
Check the Board Members page on this site for vacancies. We often have one! We have a minimum of 7 members but can have up to 10 and we have not been at full capacity in recent years. Email holidayhillsolympia@gmail.com with your interest or you can volunteer at the annual meeting.
